Editorial Policy

How we aim to keep calculator explanations useful and transparent.

Working function first

A tool page should perform the task described by its title. We do not intentionally create empty pages merely to target search terms.

Explain assumptions

Where a result depends on assumptions—such as gross salary, principal-and-interest-only mortgage payments, or user-entered sales-tax rates—we state those assumptions on the page.

Avoid pretending dynamic facts are static

Rates, regulations, taxes, prices, and platform rules change. When reliable current data is required, a calculator should either ask the user for that value or clearly identify the source and date.

Corrections

Calculation logic and written explanations should be reviewed when bugs or material ambiguities are found.
