How the tip calculator works
The tool multiplies your bill by the tip percentage to find the gratuity, then adds that amount to the original bill. If you enter more than one person, it divides the final total evenly. For example, a $50 bill with a 20% tip adds $10, making the total $60.
Choosing a tip percentage
Tipping practices vary by service, location, and personal preference. The calculator does not tell you what you must tip; it simply makes the math fast. You can enter 15%, 18%, 20%, 25%, or any custom percentage.
When splitting the bill
The per-person result assumes an even split. If people ordered very different amounts, calculate each person's subtotal separately for a more accurate split.
